CS Energy and Calibrant Energy Complete Three Battery Storage Projects, Improving New York’s Energy Resilience:

Innovative installations in Westchester County will provide critical grid support during peak demand.

EDISON, N.J., Feb. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — CS Energy and Calibrant Energy announce the completion of a portfolio of three stand-alone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in Westchester County, New York. Strategically located in the towns of Hawthorne, Yorktown, and Ossining, these projects feature Tesla’s cutting-edge MegaPack2XL technology, delivering 4.9 MW, 4.2 MW, and 4.3 MW respectively. The systems will provide essential grid support during peak and seasonal demand periods, bolstering the resilience of New York’s energy infrastructure.

Each site posed unique challenges: the Highland project on St. Augustine’s church and school campus, Broadway on local church parish property, and Gomer on private property behind a mechanic’s garage. These locations required scheduling equipment deliveries around school activities, festivals, and community activities.

“These projects demonstrate CS Energy’s expertise in overcoming logistical challenges to deliver impactful energy solutions,” said Vyacheslav Gofshteyn, Project Manager at CS Energy. “Close coordination with Tesla, property owners, and third-party stakeholders helped us successfully navigate unique site constraints and delivery schedules, particularly at the St. Augustine school campus and local church properties.”

With a strong track record of energy storage projects across the Northeast, CS Energy was selected for this portfolio due to its competitive pricing, proven expertise, and history of success in the BESS sector. The company’s experienced team was pivotal in ensuring effective data monitoring and utility communication for efficient charge and discharge commands. All systems incorporate high-tension metering enclosures and advanced safety equipment to ensure seamless utility interconnection.

“CS Energy’s dedication to safety and operational excellence is unparalleled,” said John Schoeb, Head of Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality at Enel X North America. “Their collaborative approach and attention to detail exemplify the best practices in the EPC industry.”
