Invitation to participate in expedited interconnection process under MISO’s proposed ERAS framework

BOSTON, July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Maple Creek Energy LLC and Maple Creek Energy II LLC, (together “Maple Creek”) announce the launch of a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) to solicit interest from load-serving entities, large energy users, and others seeking long-term power supply or strategic co-location opportunities at the Maple Creek Energy site. Maple Creek is a two-phase, approximately 1,300 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (“CCGT”) facility, currently under advanced development in Zone 6 of the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (“MISO”) power region.

With key development milestones achieved, Maple Creek is positioned to participate in MISO’s proposed Expedited Resource Addition Study (“ERAS”) process and offers a unique opportunity to secure capacity from a project targeting accelerated commercial operation and greater cost certainty.

This RFP is a key step in identifying partners who are prepared to act quickly and capitalize on the project.Post this

“As electrification of the grid, large load additions, onshoring of manufacturing, and baseload generator retirements drive demand for firm, dispatchable power, Maple Creek offers a critical solution for load-serving entities and strategic partners,” said Andrew Degon, Advanced Power’s Senior Vice President, Head of Thermal Development. “This RFP is a key step in identifying partners who are prepared to act quickly and capitalize on the project’s advanced development status and eligibility for the ERAS process.”

Maple Creek I is being jointly developed by Advanced Power and BDC Power Holdings, LLC (“BDC”), a Bechtel company, and Bechtel Infrastructure & Power Corporation (“BIPC”) has been selected as the EPC Contractor.
