Oxzo Announces US$25M Strategic Investment from S2G to Fuel International Expansion

Dec 4, 2025 8:00 AM Eastern Standard Time

S2G Investments plays a global role in advancing a prosperous and resilient blue economy by investing in solutions that enable climate adaptation, thriving aquatic ecosystems, and human health.

Oxzo, a leading firm specializing in oxygenation and primarily operating in Chile, Norway, and Canada, develops technologies that enhance productivity, animal welfare, and the overall sustainability of aquaculture.

SANTIAGO, Chile–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Oxzo, a global leader in oxygenation services for aquaculture, today announced a US$25 million strategic investment led by S2G Investments (“S2G”), a multi-stage investment firm focused on scaling solutions across the energy, food & agriculture, and oceans sectors. This partnership builds on previously secured investments from Fiordo Austral and Altis, marking an important step in Oxzo’s growth and positioning the company to expand globally.

Oxzo, which is based in southern Chile, has developed patented technology in oxygenation and aeration systems, establishing itself as a strategic partner to the global aquaculture industry through solutions that directly impact productivity, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability. Oxzo provides fully automated systems for producing oxygen, air, and ozone for the aquaculture industry, both at sea and on land. Their advanced systems, like the Oxymar automated pontoons and Oxymovil mobile oxygen generation units, enhance fish farming operations by increasing production efficiency and reducing fish mortality. These comprehensive solutions support multiple generations of fish and offer decision support to customers, ensuring better conditions for fish and more efficient operations overall.

In Chile, its solutions enhance salmon farmers’ productivity, delivering biomass increases of 5% to 10%, cost reductions of up to 5%, and more than 24% lower fish mortality, according to independent industry data.

In Norway, Oxzo contributes to improving animal welfare and addressing the sector’s main health challenge—the proliferation of sea lice—through solutions that reduce fish stress and mortality. The company is currently working with three of Norway’s leading, globally recognized salmon producers, further strengthening its position as a key player in developing sustainable and competitive solutions for the future of the aquaculture industry.

In Canada, its systems support the industry’s adaptation to new regulatory standards, fostering sustainable aquaculture growth in harmony with marine ecosystems. These technologies offer an efficient and sustainable alternative to options such as land-based grow-out facilities or closed containment cages, thereby helping to preserve the sector’s economic and environmental viability.

“At S2G, we see aquaculture as a cornerstone of the global protein system, one that must evolve to meet rising demand while protecting ocean ecosystems,” said Larsen Mettler, managing director of S2G’s Oceans Investment team. “Oxzo’s innovations in oxygenation and aeration directly advance that goal by improving productivity, fish welfare, and aquatic environments at scale. We believe its solutions are becoming foundational to the industry’s ability to operate efficiently and sustainably, and we are delighted to partner with Oxzo’s management team, which combines deep technical knowledge with a clear vision for transforming aquaculture globally.”

Rafael Ariztia, chairman of Fiordo Austral and Oxzo, said: “We are proud to welcome S2G as an investment partner. Their participation aligns perfectly with Oxzo’s strategy to grow in international markets and represents a great opportunity, granting access to highly qualified teams, top-level information, and global networks.”

Claudio Inglesi, partner at Altis, added: “S2G brings deep sector experience and a proven record in ocean investment. This partnership reinforces the positive outlook for oxygenation in aquaculture as a lever for productivity and animal welfare, and will accelerate the international expansion of Oxzo as it consolidates as a strategic partner for the industry.”

With approximately US$2.5 billion in committed capital, S2G has invested in more than 100 companies across five continents. S2G launched its Oceans strategy in 2020 and became one of the world’s first dedicated ocean investment teams. Over the last five years, S2G has invested in 18 portfolio companies across the ocean value chain, focusing on solutions that overcome adoption barriers and advance supply chain transparency, circularity, and ecosystem regeneration. S2G’s partnership with Oxzo is the firm’s second investment in a Latin American company.

With S2G’s investment, Oxzo strengthens its purpose of expanding Chilean innovation in aquaculture oxygenation into new markets, driving a more efficient, responsible, and sustainable global industry.
